Also, you don't _need_ a copyright on your footer, if you just can prove that your content was original and created before another one that copied you. But, I guess its a good way to show under which license you put out your work. I will also be updating with a variation of the code snippet you posted to automatically update the year. Rather than leaving it as a single year, I'll be using a static number (the year I started my site) followed by the code which will automatically update the year as time passes.
