The poll results are in! I asked the question “What design style is your favorite?” and over 200 people replied with their opinions, making this the most popular poll in the history of TutWow! *applause*
Ok, down to business. We got some interesting responses to the question, as you can see yourself below.

What is your favorite design style?
- Web 2.0 (32%, 69 Votes)
- Grunge (10%, 21 Votes)
- Typographic (13%, 28 Votes)
- Minimalistic (35%, 76 Votes)
- Hand Drawn (8%, 17 Votes)
- Other (2%, 7 Votes)
Total Voters: 218
It’s interesting to see that the minimalistic style, which is usually plain and straightforward, is very close to web 2.0, which is usually more cluttered and visually diverse. Interpret that how you like, but all I know is that now I’m going to have to work hard to find out what exactly my clients will look for in my designs.
New Poll
Today I am releasing a new poll entitled “Do you use a WYSIWYG editor, or do you code in a simple text editor?” If you don’t know what a WYSIWYG editor is, never fear – Wikipedia always has an answer.
You can find the new poll in the sidebar – be sure to vote!

I would like to point out that web 2.0 is very similar to minimalistic. The idea behind 2.0 was to make the web more accessible and dynamic. This meant removing clutter that hindered the user experience.
True, that’s what it was meant for originally, but I have found in my personal experience that when people try to get a “web 2.0 feel” (at least when the style was first trending), it ends up being cluttered and a bit distracting. Would you agree?
